Teaching East Asia in Middle and High Schools

Workshop participants will focus upon learning and teaching about Japan, North and South Korea, China, and Taiwan. Workshop faculty include university professors with expertise on Asia and who’ve regularly worked with teachers, as well as outstanding middle and high school educators recognized for their stellar treatment of Asia in classrooms.

  • One virtual workshop, one face-to-face workshop, and a follow-up virtual workshop in the fall
• • Audience:
  • "Teaching East Asia in Middle and High Schools" will take place on Tuesday, June 22nd, and Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021. The June 22nd workshop is virtual and the June 23rd workshop is face-to-face and will take place at the University of Mississippi—Southaven Campus (If a COVID-19 related problem occurs, both days of the workshop will be virtual). The workshop is intended for West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and Arkansas middle and high school social studies teachers.
