We’re excited to announce the release of Peter Hessler’s much-anticipated new book! Hessler, a seasoned journalist and gifted storyteller, draws from his experiences as a journalism teacher at Sichuan University and as a father of two young daughters attending a local elementary school. Through these perspectives, "Other Rivers: A Chinese Education" provides a fascinating look at China’s remarkable modern transformation, with a special focus on the education system—an essential lens for understanding the country’s history, present, and future.
We invite you to join NCTA seminar leader Tese Neighbor and World Affairs Council Global Classroom Director Ryan Hauck in early December for an engaging discussion of this insightful book.
