As the third nation to independently send humans into space, China reached a major milestone in 2003 with Shenzhou 5 mission. Since then, its space achievements have accelerated. In 2022, China completed Tiangong, its permanently crewed modular space station. With the U.S. barring China from the ISS and the ISS nearing decommissioning, Tiangong marks a new era as a second fully operational space outpost in low Earth orbit. This three-week online seminar explores China's fast-moving space program - past, present, and future - and its impact on science, global power, and space exploration.
