Audience: Open to all Grade 6 - 12 educators in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana
Course Description: This 6 hour workshop—sponsored by the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia and the Association for Asian Studies—brings together nationally renowned scholars from throughout the region to discuss some of the most important cultural and political issues facing Asia today.
It also provides educators with reading materials on key issues in Asian Studies and the knowledge to effectively incorporate contemporary Asia into the classroom.

  • Complementary Registration to the SWCAS Annual Meeting ($40 value), including cultural performances and presentations by top scholars of Asia from around the world
  • $30 of classroom ready materials for teaching about contemporary Asia
