Course Description: This year’s workshop will feature a lecture, “Peacemaking and South Asian Religions: Teaching the Vedic Traditions in the K-12 Classroom”; a screening of the documentary Day of the Western Sunrise about a Japanese fishing vessel caught in the fallout of U.S. nuclear weapons testing in 1954 (including discussion with the producer); and “Hibakusha and Peacemaking in Japan,” lecture and discussion by Sasamori Shigeko, Hiroshima bombing survivor.
