Course Description: This workshop will introduce K-12 educators to the Korean sijo, Chinese jueju, and Japanese haiku, with attention to thematic and stylistic similarities and differences among the three forms. It will also include a sijo composition session, as well as strategies for teaching East Asian Poetry and a concert with traditional Korean music. The workshop is open to K-12 teachers in all subject areas who would have the opportunity to integrate the material into their curricula.
