Modern/Contemporary East Asian Film Workshop

Type of Course: Face-to-Face Seminars and Workshops
Audience: Middle and high school English and film studies instructors (all states) who are interested in incorporating Chinese, Japanese, and Korean film into their curricula. Highest priority for admissions reserved for high school educators.
Course Description: This workshop will introduce middle and high school teachers to a selection of modern/contemporary Chinese, Japanese, and Korean film classics, with special focus on depictions of family structures in East Asia. Participants will be required to view films prior to attendance at workshop. Admissions priority is reserved for high school level instructors.

Participation includes:
· All meals and workshop materials, including access to film
· Certificate of completion/continuing education credits
· A stipend based on roundtrip travel distance from the workshop venue:
*Up to 150 miles: $200
*151-450 miles: $350
*More than 450 miles: $500
